AirNZ – Airpoints Store

The Airpoints online store has over 60 partners, you can earn Airpoints Dollars at the places you spend every week. You can then spend your Airpoints Dollars on flights, gifts from the Airpoints™ Store and a range of other great benefits.

Problem
The online store was dated, dysfunctional, had a redundant UX, non-mobile friendly and didn’t provide a UX experience that was considered world-class for a brand such as AirNZ.

Process
Using the double diamond process, we split the project into research and design. Working together we ran a variety of workshops and prototyping sessions. Gathering customer data we set a high benchmark looking at a variety of stores always asking key questions to identify our direction.

The team comprised of shareholders, Frontend developers, brand, project manager and UX designer and researcher. Bringing in the development team early is vital to the process, so we can be clear on what, how and why we’re building it the way we are. On this occasion, we used an external team.
